Sometimes photos are too big for Picasa to manage. When this is the case, we can resize or resample an image using another external program.
This tutorial assumes that IrfanView is installed on your computer.
Find the image that’s too big for Picasa to print or crop, then right-click it and press “Locate on disk”

A windows explorer window will appear with the photo selected. Right-click on the photo and click “Open With > IrfanView”.

If IrfanView isn’t available, click “Choose Program” and then find “IrfanView” in the list and click “Ok”

In IrfanView, click “Image > Resize / Resample”

Of “Width” and “Height”, set the higher one to a value not higher than 6000. Click “Ok”

IrfanView may take a while to resample.
When it’s finished, click “File Save”, “Save” and “Yes” to replace the old version.
Close IrfanView, and return to Picasa where you can now print and crop the photo.
